Samsung 256Gb SSD Format Issues

March 11th, 2014, 9:28

Hi, New to the site, hoping for help with my Formatting issue...

I have an old 256gb SSD drive out of my old Dell Laptop that Decided to die on me... Cant get it to power up... SO in my wisdom i thought i would salvage what i could from it and sell it on ebay... Sold all the parts that were working, screen, Ram, CPU and even the plastics, battery etc... and thought why not use the SSD as a nice external drive... Here goes my problem...

The Drive was encrypted, But for the life of me i can not remember the software that was used to do this... Silly i know, but all worked great so it wasnt a problem till the damn thing died...

When i try to format using HDGuru i get the following errors...

Hi,
the best option is secure erase by samsung magician or partition magic, or hdderase and many others programs.
secure erase is the best option for ssd.
