Dead Samsung MZ-VLB2560

I have a dead Samsung MZ-VLB2560 , and are wondering if it possible to revive this nvme ssd. It died quite instantly I've been told, a warning from Windows( Dont know what), and then on reboot the controller didnt find the disk.

I have tried connecting the disk to a new nvme controller, but to no avail.

What do you think, it is possible to do some phyiscal debugging on this thing? Can it be a short or dead component?

I noticed that it gets really hot, but I have no benchmark on the temperature, so I really dont know what temperature it runs at while idle, but I doubt it should get _that_ hot while idling. It's the ARM MCU itself that gets really hot, but I'm guessing a physical fault, not a software fault causing overload and that heat.

Measure the voltages at V1 - V6 and Vboost.

Measure the Vin and Vout pins of each load switch.

Thanks. What should I use as reference/ground when measuring V1-V6?

No unfortunately not. I sent thisunit to a professional reconstruction company, but they didn't succeed in reconstructing anything.

Was your ssd from a HP laptop as well?

Your SSD processor burned down, you can see it by the glue residue from the sticker.

Measure the resistance between ground and each of the voltage test points. That will tell you if any of the loads are shorted.
