Samsung EVO reads only as 500mb

Hi guys I'm new here and have scored myself an EVO SSD on ebay and would love to get it going, windows does not like it and the seller said it would only show 500mb not the 256gb it is meant to be, now i know you guys are talking about safe mode but my SSD looks a little different to the one I find on here.
here is the front and back I scanned for guys and gals,



windows now and then will make it show up but after 20 mins or so.

Found it comes up with 960mb not 500mb and has firmware 0863
