any help what to start checking completely dead.

Measure the voltages at the drain and source pins of U5.

Have the same drive, can anybody assist with circuit diagram or repair. Drive does not power on, have identical drive as a donor, hoping to repair power supply rather than transplant storage chips to other device.

There are no diagrams available.

How are you check if the drive is powering on? Start with resistance to ground on the power rails and the voltages at the pmic and comparing the voltages on the donor.

Alternatively I know a good place you can send it :lol:

Measured the voltages at these points and they same on working drive.

There are two pads (at the top right corner of the first photo) which could be the safe mode shorting points. There appears to be a pullup resistor at one pad, so I expect that it would be electrically safe to short these pads. If the SSD identifies itself in safe mode, then this will at least tell you whether the controller has basic sanity.
