Damaged Exodia Flash Drive

April 5th, 2023, 9:21

Hi there. I have a severely damaged 32gb Kingston Exodia flash drive. It has 2 NAND chips (one on each side of PCB). One is crushed and useless. The controller is also destroyed. Is it possible to retrieve useful data from the other good NAND chip (I am thinking of word/pdf files)? Thanks.

Have you tried data recovery programs yet? Is the pen detected?
I'm not very experienced, but I can try to help

It depends. If mix are between both nands by small block size (like join by page, join by byte), it will be game over. If there will be join by dump, you can get part of data (sometimes even all if you are really lucky).

The controller is an IS918-FN12 or IS918-FN12R (can't quite tell).
