External SSD Question (Help)

Hey friends,

Quick question...

So I got rid of an old laptop but kept the ssd drive because it has all my information and files & folders, however upon removing it and making it an external ssd... when plugging it into my new laptop and upon opening it, the only thing that displays is files and folders of drives, etc. but not my saved information. Is there something I overlooked? How do I get my information and saved files, folders, movies, music, etc. and general content?

It was a Mac or PC ? There was no other drive on your laptop ?

Is the drive showing in File Explorer?

If not open Disk Management, right-click on the drive in question, and then select Change Drive Letter and Paths, and then Add a drive letter.
