Recover Formatted Sandisk Flash

January 9th, 2025, 16:16

I got old formatted sandisk micro cruzer usb.
chip-off and found ECC but it is encrypted.
If I soldering back to the device with new data(ECC made), is there some chance to recover original data?
The device was working well but could not recover without chip-off.
I never tried this way and I have totally no idea if it is possible or not.

If there is another way to recover or any advices, please let me know.

Hex shows all zeros

Well, that is a problem and if you did actually mention that I missed it.

but it is encrypted.

An old flash drive? How was encryption determined then?

What controller? Could you link to the FE library entry?

A quick formatted USB flash drive is what we're talking about, right? And you went straight to chip-off? I don't see the logic in that.
