Hi
Recently I went on to tackle this Kingston 9904234-383.A00LF USB drive.
The memory ICs are Toshiba TC58NV64D1DT600 while the controller is unbranded with the following markings
- Code:
SK6211
8APC
A0821
H30655
Made sure none pins on the ICs were shorted/loose, cleaned off any gunk which wanted to come off with IPA. Then I soldered the 0.02mm copper wires from USB A male plug to the corresponding VIAs, made sure none got shorted together (especially D+/- to +5V), and plugged it in.
Sadly, the drive was detected with error 43 in devmgmt.
Looking closer I think the GND wire was shorting some line going into two VIAs (the copper wire isn't enamel coated). Sadly, when I was correcting that mistake pretty much all of the wires broke off, which were pain in the butt to solder on.
Now, my question is, could anybody mark which capacitor should I inject 5V into? The VIA of Vcc goes under the controller IC and it seems like it just stays underneath it.
