sandiskcruizer 16GB detected with lower capacity (64MB)

Sandisk Cruizer Micro 16 GB is getting detected as "Karona Sp5" with lower capacity 64 MB
Is there any software solution to restore capacity ? I have sent it to my friend having pc3000 portable but he couldn't recover.
Anyone pls. help

It means that controller has no connection/ cannot read the NAND. In most cases it's because of NAND degradation. If the data is important - chip off is the way. If you want to fix it - check all the soldered components. But there are low chances to fix it.

Yes mcu is not communicating with nand. If this model is having TSOP nand /mcu then it can be transplanted to donor pcb. But for monolithic it may not be possible.

If it is TSOP and it's degraded, transplant will not work. If it's monolith - chip off is the only way.
