Crucial has released firmware update but there storage executive software is unable to update firmware ( several peoples have reported this)
However manual update is possible ,but crucial has not given any option to download it.
From Feb 2026 crucial is exiting from consumer business.
Anyone having this firmware package?

Firmware 47 from the Crucial Executive temps (I packed it. Inside is what was in a separate temp folder with a random numerical name: the firmware.properties file and the binary in the M3CR047 folder). When flashing offline, the program itself seems to look for a zip archive with all this stuff.

Given Crucial has left the consumer market, might be prudent to make backups of important data in case of the unthinkable.

I do not have any tool for crucial in my collection of SSD tools either

Hello there!

I couldn't get the M3CR047 for Crucial MX500 in Crucial Storage Executive with errors like:
Quote:
Firmware Update Error
Connection failed while checking for new firmware.
Please try again later or use the manual firmware update option if you already have a firmware package.
If you are behind a proxy, configure the proxy settings using the below form and try the firmware update again.

(which was caused by some TLS/connection errors in my case)

I took some time and captured the firmware metadata request from Crucial Storage Executive, and got the following official Micron URL:
https://www.micron.com/content/dam/micron/global/public/ssdtool/firmware/mx500/m3cr047.zip

Actual captured response:
Code:
{
    "CurrentFW": "M3CR043",
    "latestFW": "M3CR047",
    "result": "Update available",
    "error": "0",
    "release_date": "Nov-16-2024",
    "manualurl": "https://www.micron.com/content/dam/micron/global/public/ssdtool/firmware/mx500/m3cr047.zip",
    "releasenotes": "<ul>  <li>Resolved potential hang and crash issues that may occur during a corrupted firmware update process.</li>  <li>Firmware versions M3CR02x and M3CR03x are not affected, and do not require update.</li></ul>"
}

It's the exact ZIP to be used with the manual firmware update option in Crucial Storage Executive.
Enjoy!

p.s.
Attaching the file itself in case Micron decides to shutdown completely.

It's a firmware update which resolves an issue with crashes that result from bad firmware updates. It seems to me that this update is pointless since Crucial has ceased providing support for this model.

BTW, M3CR046 is still available:
