hi all
i have recieved my new flash tool from ACE, so far not a successful recovery has been made on any chip as i am experiencing constant catastrophic failures when the chip has been read and the controller has been selected.
have others experienced this?
can this happen due to the wrong controller being chosen?
i have tried contacting ace but have not spoken with them yet so thought i would quickly ask here.
Thank you for any info you can provide.

Can you explain the reasons of your opinion?
I have try to buy it but I have encountered some problems with ACE lab.
They ask me to pay very expensive taxes of russian custom and also they will ship it after 120 days after payment.
I hope they will solve faster this trouble because now is not a very friendly trading

I have owned Ace Flash for a while but I got so pissed off by unsupported chips all the time, and had to rely on tech support which sometimes taken forever to help out. I finally decided to make a switch to soft-centre, it is not perfect but 100 times better than ace.
You cant sell any of ACE's products, i am stucked with it.......as it is non transferrable.

Yes, I have the same failures

Contact with Ace, they promising correct this in next update. But i wait since October 2009, now we have March 2010 and update is not released yet. Even PC3K Flash version 3.0 beta don't work. The same failures, maybe little rarely.
Waste of money...

have you made sure that the pins are clean and not bent.

Hi Craig
yep, definitely straight as can be, this happens so far on 2 chips, i am also using an IR stattion to remove the chips so they are coming off perfectly clean and aligned
thx

In my cases it's not the problem with dirty pins. Soft just hangs and generate a lot of errors.

what version of os are you using on your pc system
is it 32bit or 64 bit
are you by anychance using windows 7
as there no drivers out for this device at all.
so that could be the problem there.
if not it might be a faulty unit ????????
March 9th, 2010, 5:48
32bit system XP pro.
The same problem on other computer. It is unambiguous problem with reader.
I just use Softcenter reader, and PC3K flash catch the dust.
Maybe in the future it will be a good tool...

wow a lot of money to spend on a product that does not work.
possible it could be the unit at fault or the reader where you put the ic chip in.
