I have ATA password problem with SSD Samsung PM851 MZ-7TE5120 MZ7TE512HMHP-00004.
It was be installed in to the laptop with touch ID scanner, and activated protection in BIOS. I think, BIOS set some ATA password in to the SSD. This laptop is no longer there, and I cant unlock my SSD.
This is OEM product, and Samsung didn't support it on website and in Magician application! Also i can't find firmware ext0300q.enc at the web for it.

I shorted 2 pins (red), and try run HDPARM , but this did not help solve the problem!

Friend, you have the exact same model like mine.
Any guide pls?

I have a locked PM863a SAMSUNG MZ7LM3T8HMLP-00005 here.

I unsuccessfully tried shorting the EN pin #6 using tweezers, described here: https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php ... 99#p305499
The drive resets and then its still locked.

Shorting the pins like here dind't do anything: https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php ... 41#p308841

I have it attached via an Adaptec 82885T expander which in turns is attached to to a LSI 9305-i24, cold that be the reason?

Any suggestions?
Shorting the EN pin #6 of the MP5505 chip should have worked. That's what both of us did.

Just to rule it out, I would try it with the drive connected to a regular native SATA port on the motherboard (or a different computer if your motherboard doesn't have those), not HBAs etc. since they maybe act slightly differently to the drive reset. That's just a wild guess though. :)

Thank you, I only tried the HBA ports, in fact I tried the HBA directly and the expander because they were more convenient to access, will try the onboard SATA ports as well and report back here :)
