HDD GURU FORUMS

Hi,

I have a 4Gb flash memory witch was damaged by my work PC damage on track 0.
I am able to use recovery programs to save the information but I am not able to re-use it.
I tried to use both version of the software that the HDDGURU website offer – versions 2.21.1108 and 2.36.1181. Both of them failed to format my memory.

Both versions gave me the following error message.

The windows format can not format my USB because of the track 0.
Can someone help me with suggestions or tool software to fix it?

Track 0? First time for me to hear. I suppose that Tracks used in HDD
Just resolder worked controller instead of damaged, and you flash stick will work. I'm not sure that you could save the data using software in tnis case.
I couldn't undestand, why the people would repair flah drives? It's very cheap devices (15-20 USD - 4Gb) and you just spend your time without result.

I am not an IT specialist, but stupid thinks I am not saying…..

Why I am trying to repair? Because sometimes something can been see it as a challenge….and in this case it is for me.

Geeze what a newbie thing to say, don't you know NAND memory has tiny heads, cylinders, and tracks inside the chip. How else is it non-volatile.

Why don't you read the manual before posting, do I need to teach you everything?

SAY I HAVE A PROBLEM WID MY FLASH DRIVE - 64 GB ! YES 64 GB - GOT IT CHEAP BUT AFTER THAT I FORMATTED IT AND THEN IT SHOWS
FREE SPACE 0 : USED SPACE 0 -
THEN THEREAFTER I CANT USE IT NOR FORMAT IT - FORMATTING GIVES A MESSAGE - NO BOOT SECTOR SPACE AVAILABLE ?

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RETRIEVE ? PLEASE HELP

1st : are you sure it was 64 GB? It could be a fake 4 GB with a "6" before the 4...

2nd : find a pro near you who can analyze the memory apart from the stick and maybe extract data.

OTHERWISE if you need the stick only : see if the manufacturer have on their website a tool FOR ERASING THE STICK : you will loose everything on it but it will work again. Or forget it.

Yes, it has a heads...By the way, do you know what has a memory chip inside? It's incredible but it has a small platter inside!

Hi to all, I need your help.
I had a problem with a Transcend JetFlash V30 8GB. In this drive there where some virus and I can't delete file or format the drive "normally" (with "normally" I mean using right click on the drive and choosing format) because windows said that the drive was protected by writing. So I tried to search on internet a way to "force" the formatting process (I knew that all files would be erased, I didn't care about loosing files because my intention was to restore at "factory status") and I found HDD Low Level Format; I used it and I had the same errors shown in pustiul's first post (format 1.jpg and format 2.jpg). Now in "disk management" the usb drive is shown as a removable disk but it hasn't any partition and in its proprieties the capacity results 0MB.
My question is: is there any way to solve this problem? can I do anything to recover my usb drive?
I hope to have given you all information you need to inderstand my problem. If not please answer me for details!
