Post subject:  microsd 32gb

hello to all, i'm new and i have a problem. i have a 32gb microsd. today i had formatted it in fat32 and i stored data. after i put it in my mobile and worked perfectly. after that i put the microsd in the sd reader integrated in my laptop. results?! windows ask me to format an 8MB disk with the RAW format. where are the 32gb? moreover i can't format the disk. is there a method to get back all the 32gb? i'm not interested to recover data. thanks to all who answer

ps: i use windows 7, 64bit

I'll ask you some questions which might help to narrow-down where the problem is - but there's no guarantee of finding the reason for your problem, without having the card in front of me, as there are too many unknown variables.

Is this a new card?
How much have you used/tested it before now?
Where did you buy it? (e.g. online at eBay? online at well-known shop? market?)
How confident are you that this is a genuine 32GB card and not a counterfeit?

How much data (8GB? 16GB? 32GB?) did you store onto the card?
The sequence of your actions is not clear to me. It seems that you stored that data onto the card somehow first, before you then moved the card into your mobile - is that correct?
If so, how did you store data onto the card?

Have you successfully used that 32GB card in that card reader before, without seeing the same behaviour?
Have you put any other 32GB SD/microSD cards in that card reader successfully in the past, without seeing that behaviour?
How do you know that this card reader supports 32GB SD/microSD cards?
Have you tried using that 32GB card in any other card reader before this problem? If so, what was the result?

It is possible already to suggest possible causes/fixes, but before guessing, I would like to see the answers to the questions above... There might be more questions, depending on your answers.

ciao ripper92,
it's a typical firmware failure, you can google for it and you'll find the cause and some utilities to fix it ...losing your data
