This monolithic device appears to be completely dead. No signs of damage to the package.
Nothing is detected through the usb port.

I have buzzed the six extra pads to the standard usb interface but there dosn't appear to be any connection.

Is that the end of the road? Is there anything else that can be done to get the data back?
Looks like game over to me!

only way your tell is by open it up inside
and not damaging the board itself

possible chip is damaged etc

It's a monolithic package........nothing to open up. It measures about 1mm thickness.

Use special acid for this.
If it is doesn't show unknown USB device , there are chance to find some mechanical PCB or contacts damages.
Is it heated?

I measured it as 2mm thick and it appears to be constructed as a solid block using epoxy material the same as any other semiconductor memory ic.
I guess the memory, controller and the oscillator are built as one piece.
The pcb component is also bonded to the ic and appears to have a thickness about the same as a piece of A4 printer paper (very thin!) which is totally buried in the package.

No parts to remove/repair and I don't like the idea of using acids to attempt to partialy disolve the epoxy materials without knowing the true effects so it's game over for me.

You would need to use a light grain sandpaper to rub away the back till you get to the pins underneath. But i would not do that since i am pretty sure no one has the pinout for that device type so there is no way to wire it up to a flash reader.
