Dear Guys,

Am planning to go for the SSD tools, and i was going through posts here about both and noticed the following:

- few people talk about the soft-center and how good is it
- more are going through the PC-3000 Flash SSD Edition

since am going through both products and wanted to decide which one is better/reliable and also have more case studies on their forum n Support is the most important.

so please any advice from users who uses both of any one them will be really appreciated here to help me decide which one should i go for. keeping in mind price doesn`t matter for me, i rather pay more to get something helps my Biz.

thnx Man for the advice, i guess i will go for the complicated one 1st.

Post back your views on what you get as I am also looking at the SC one. I have quote from ACE and SD so far ACE is more than double the cost of the other two on the market as well. I don't want to flush more $$ down SD either not impressed with their products buggy software incomplete manual's horrible on-line support via forum and it takes them at least 1.5 to 2.5 hours to respond to a remote support request and that seems to only happen when I get the sales rep involved as well. just my opinion of SD. Ace is much better for support and I can't speak to SC as I have not dealt with them but others post positive feedback which is promising.

sure i will, i respect the Acelab tools, but sometimes it is time to try others as well.

Dr.Kiev , i really respect you as a Pro. & as a Friend here, but if you just think about this you might change your opinion

when i was going in DR i never decided to get the SD tools, i went direct to the Pro. tool, then after some time i got the SD means when you start with Complicated Tools you will see things and learn MORE, but starting with Easy (Clicks) will take you to Point-Zero and i prefer to Learn more & pay my school fees.

i guess from the Biz. we made with each other you know me on this point

Is no member here willing to comment on the successful or failed recoveries that have been done with regard to the SSD and Pen Drives ? which tool you like or dislike and why ? I think its a great idea to have an open discussion on this topic since its an emerging area of DR.

I myself have only run into a few failed camera cards. Many that have been accidentally formatted or file system damaged somehow and recovery was not a problem on them. I have many SSD drives I use myself but none have failed nor have any that I have installed in production machines at customer sites over the past 2 years which is when we started using the 10GB & 20GB models. Now we are in the 5th generation of the SSD drives. I don't see the failures that great in my area but that's not saying much.

I have PC3000SSD and can't help feeling its all it bit too click here wizard recovery, good support from Ace, and enhancements to keep up with play, but I can't help thinking Softcentre would have been better choice, yes more RAW and steep learning curve, but ultimately a more powerful tool. IMHO. Having Said that PC3000 Flash does many jobs well.

I'm a total novice and have been trying to keep up with the cases on the SC forum.

The forum at SC is great, and the whole community seem to get involved and chip in ideas etc. The techs Vladus and Sergey take on whatever people seem to throw at them and seem to be very good at getting things sorted. They seem very able to adapt their experience to fresh products and monolithic parts etc.

If your out to learn the complexities, and have some knowledge already I would recommend SC.

Note that I have experience of nothing else and most of the stuff on the forums goes right over my head.

I will learn it, and this recommendation will be justified. Give me a year or so...
