Hi Guys,

I have in my possesion a soft-centre reader and have been using it to read and erase NAND flash chips very successfully...

I'm looking into learning about data recovery. Can you guys reccomend any literature, websites or courses I could take to learn more?

I'm afraid this is a case of me being a total nooB...

Thanks in advance..

Search on google about nand and flash data recovery or mobile forensic, you coul find a large variety of website and documentation to read.

I have never doubted the power of the 'google it' response. For many it will answer the original question.

My problem is that there is a wealth of information, perhaps too much (if there is such a thing). Hence I am appealing for recommended information or tools that I can use. Anyone can google, but those that have been in my position before could perhaps guide my quest through the masses of info.

To be honest its difficult to find information about NAND flash memory, and how it works in the real world. Plenty of info on hot electron injection, how it compares to NOR and its evolution through the years (not what I'm looking for).

I'm looking for information with a view of recovering data, what do i need to know etc.

Google will return thousands of hits, most will be inaccurate, misleading or simply dangerous.

All DR professionals I know learn through their own research and experience. There is no commercial documentation available that will be specifically helpful. Even if there was, to read about DR while having limited or no experience will only cause confusion.

If you are serious about learning DR then you need to research and experiment yourself to gain experience and understanding.

Or you could take a class with scott moulton....
