October 4th, 2013, 5:15

Hi Guys,

I want to know to check the components inside the drive, because no power and the drive is not identified. On PC 3000, the drive is in status Busy.

Thank you

If you upload a detailed photo, I'll try to help you locate the power supply test points.

Your photos are too blurry, but I was able to make out the following test points. There should be a supply voltage on the output side of L3, but I can't see any.

Thanks a lot! it would help me, i have general knowledge in electronics but not an expert.

Bye for now, i will let you know

First i removed the diode of Protection and checked all the points you had suggest me and it is OK. For the voltage epected 5 V , i'm getting 4.82V is it a problem?

If everything is OK, i don't know where is located the problem!

Thanks

1) If CR3 measured OK, then there was no need to remove it.

2) I don't know the range of supply voltages that the SSD will tolerate, but I would think that +4.8V should be OK.

3) You didn't say what voltage you measured at L3.

4) Do any of the chips (flash controller, NAND flash array) feel hot?

5) AFAIK, most, if not all, SSDs have a diagnostic console. Some have a serial TTL RS232 port. If you can locate such a port and communicate with the SSD, then this will prove that the flash controller is at least partially functional.

If the hardware is OK, then the SSD may have a firmware fault. I can't help you with that.

Hi,

CR3 = OL while the board powered on, i guess now that i had to measure CR3 without power on!

2) Within L3 i'm getting 3.3V please take a look on the picture.

Thank you

The voltages seem OK. I don't think there is anything I can do for you. Sorry. :-(
