Do any data recovery companies offer recovery services on Smart Phones. We have the ufed but it needs to device to power up and be able to access the device in firmware mode. Many phones we get don't boot up. If anyone specializes in physically removing memory from iphone's etc. Then I may be interested in outsourcing some work. Thanks

For info, we use cellbrite's product on daily basis for forensics and data recovery and they're great.
I don't know a better sofware to extract data from (smart)phones.

I emailed this company http://www.cellebrite.com/ yesterday and asked few technical questions,
and today i got a call from Mr. Peter (Sales Director) who explained to me on the phone few things about their products and how does it work.

This Company is really a very good ref. for you guys (Loki) heheh

Cellebrite runs roughly $4500 for tools allowing logical extraction, or $9000 for tools allowing physical and logical extraction.

Not sure if you guys are interested, but here in the States there is one place we use - http://www.binaryintel.com/. If anyone can get the job done for chip-off work or repair/rebuild of phones, they can.

We use cellebrite as well and it is a great product. We have a couple other pieces of hardware/software we use for phones, but cellebrite is our first choice for smartphones. We can also remove the chips from some smartphones to rebuild the data. Not all phones use standard NAND chips, but most do, including the iphones. At least up to Iphone 4. Have not received a 4S yet. Rebuilding iphone data from NAND is not easy and typically clients do not want to spend the money to do it, unless it is court ordered.

heheh we never discussed price really honestly, but most in details technical As some people here know me and how do we work here, price never been a problem compared to knowledge proper tools we are investing on.
