Hi,

I had a USB drive which had a broken USB connector (Thought it would be an easy fix). I soldered a new USB connector to the pads and still had no response from the computer.

I used a microscope to check for any damaged components and found what might be a burnt resistor (?)

I have little experience with electronics but would like to test the resistor (the black thing), how would I do this?

Many Thanks, Steve.
