Hello all, I hope someone can help me with this query. I am recovering my first USB Stick. It is a 16GB stick and the NAND chips are both TH58NVG6T2DTG20 chips, with a PHISON UT08AK69 controller. I have made dumps of the chips using my SD Flash Doctor, however I am now at a loss. I am following through the documentation they have sent me (manual & tutorial slides), but I have no idea how to work out the Page Structure, Header Size, etc... The Page Size is 8600, and the Block Size is 128, and I have 4 x 4GB dumps, which I think are in the correct order. Can someone point me in the right direction? Many thanks for any help! Mark |

No, I wasn't aware you could do that. I bought the Flash Doctor a year ago, and to be honest it has just sat on the shelf unused... until now. How do I contact them? Many thanks, |

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean the Flash Doctor itself, ie. the software, or that Salvation Data can't help me. I have looked online, and the chips and controller are not supported by the PC3000 SSD reader, or the Dataman Chip readers. Do you know of any other tools? I was looking at the soft-centre reader too... is this worth buying? Thanks, Mark |

Hello, I just checked under a microscope and I think I have the controller wrong. It's a PHISON PS-2233-F UT0839-AK69518 controller. Any help still appreciated, Mark |

The controller uses XOR and you might need power line mods to read those chips properly. Agree with hddguy, SD tool probably not man enough for this case SC should be able to handle it, that's what I use |

Thanks. I've just placed an order for the SC unit. I'll see how I get on with that. Cheers, Mark |

Sean , How does Thier License Work .The software works for 1 Year After You Buy Or the Updates/Support Stops What Happens As far as I understand it the software will still work, but no updates or TS. Not entirely sure as I would never let it expire, the guys at SC are very good and deserve to be paid. Also there are many many updates as new cases arrive on a daily basis so I would be a fool to not keep it updated!! |

Hello, Yes I ordered the license too. I ordered everything they had, came to about £1800 in total. Hope it proved more useful than the Flash Doctor. Cheers, Mark |

Cheers, Mark Great, you won't regret it. It's a bit of a steep learning curve for the SC tool, but once you get the hang of it you will be impressed!! Good luck |

Is the documentation provided easy to follow for the SC, or is it as unfriendly as the SD stuff. I have a Flash Doctor & a Data Compass, and I have never successfully recovered data with either. Bit of a waste of cash really, but I keep trying with them as I want some return for my money. Cheers, |

I have a couple of manuals and case studies I wrote with the intention of training some of my colleagues. But with frequent updates and new mixes / layouts etc, the software changes regularly and my guides may not be so relevant. When you recieve it you can PM me with your skype (assuming you have skype) ill be happy to send them to you |

Do you think SC is more recomendable than PC-3000 Flash? |

It depends if you want a automated solution that works some of the time, or a complex manual solution that works most of the time |

hddguy wrote: It depends if you want a automated solution that works some of the time, or a complex manual solution that works most of the time I do not agree. Now both of them - it's automated solution. And I even tell you their opinion that the P3000 is a more interesting environment for manual work. |
