16GB USB Flash Drive problem

I have a flash drive that I took out of my PC without ejecting it via my file browser. I was trying to transfer files to the drive for a couple of hours before I got annoyed as a 1GB folder was taking about 30minutes to transfer. Anyway I put the flash drive into my laptop which is running Win7 and I cannot do anything with it, I can't format the drive, tried using a couple of programs to format but it's not being recognized at all. HD Sentinal sees the drives but cannot do anything with with, my Linux distro's Disk Utility can see the drive but again I cannot do anything with it.

It is a 16GB flash drive and i'm not looking to recover any files from it but would like it working again.

Any help on what I can do to have it working again would be appreciated.

Probably the controller got damaged when you removed the drive without ejecting.
This one is for the bin if data is not important.

Hello!
I also have a problem with 16 GB flash drive. It's Silicon Power LuxMini 720 16GB (SP016GBUF2720V1B/G). I can read all data from it, but I can't write anything to this drive, even I can't create a folder. I tried to format it with Windows (XP, SP3), with Acronis DD (ver. 10 running from Win, ver. 11 running from boot-CD), with Low level format tool (downloaded from http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low ... rmat-Tool/ here). But every time I got an error "The data is write protected" or something like that. Screenshot from LLF is here http://s52.radikal.ru/i137/1207/2f/52d2b493c9f2.jpg. After all tries of formatting data at the drive is still avaliable for reading.
I scanned this drive with HDDScan (also downloaded from hddguru.com), with command Verify and Read everything is OK, 2-3 sectors are orange, others are white or light-grey. But with command Erase all sectors are bad. Screenshot is here http://s59.radikal.ru/i163/1207/0f/74e80059d8fb.jpg.
I guess that drive is damaged. Can anybody approve or disprove my supposition?

Thanks and sorry for mistakes, my English is not very well ))
