Hello, everyone !
I use SanDisk SDSA4AH-032G (Ver: SSD_8.10) SSD on Linux powered device.
It is connected to the USB bus via USB-to-SATA adapter Genesys GL830.
When accessed directly (not mounted), it behaves Ok, however when mounted it causes problems:
When I copy reasonably large files (megabytes) to the SSD, either with 'dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/file.1', 'cp' or 'tar', at some point in time, the SCSI request fails.
In the kernel log I see that less bytes than required could be written to the SSD.
The SSD would stay in this failing state untill it is reset, in other words retrying the SCSI request or, even, remounting the device would not help.
Final note:
The same USB-to-SATA adapter works fine with another SSD or HDD. At the same time, the same SSD works ok with another adapter.
Is this issue is known to someone ?
Could someone guide me how to cope with it ?

You set the thread title as "Hanging SSD" but I see no evidence of you proving that. Your problem could just as easily be "Hanging USB-SATA adapter", couldn't it?

With special equipment, it would be possible (with some effort) to confirm whether it is the USB-SATA adapter, or the SSD, which is behaving incorrectly - but you don't have the necessary special equipment :-(

Since you said:

... then IMHO the easiest way for you to avoid this problem, is to use that other (USB-SATA) adapter, which you found works OK with your SSD.
