Dear Experts in Flash:

Is it possible to Extract the Data from 64GB Memory (for example) 4 Chips (16GB each)

with 1 DEAD Memory chip (say the last one) or Any one of them????

Even by RAW?

Anyone got such a case similar to this?

i meet similar case. i dont' remember it's SSD or what. one chip is dead. i find out way for assemble. but result is poor. result like raw dump of 3 chips.
but i have few questions about this case:
does Flash chip really dead? as my experience that very few chip was dead.
can you accurate find out where is the problem of it?
i did recovery one case with one chip has internal short. get off 80% of data around.

I have read that sometimes if you play around with the supply voltage up or down you can get a better/worse dump.
Also it is possible for a pin to break just inside the casing I guess, I have seen times where DR guys have ground away the case and soldered to broken pins.

I guess an electron microscope would bring up many of the flaws that could make a chip dead, but if the chip is a bit more complex, say with security features, it may be easier for damage.

It would take a nice lab to investigate the cause of a failed chip, unless it was an obvious short across pins that should not be.

Also, yes as long as the mix is fairly basic, you could retrieve something off the remaining chips, probably depends on the xor as well I am guessing.

but Im a newbie without a great lab so all these are my thoughts.
