Trying to dump data from a TSOP 28 chip.
The chip is ATMEL, AT45DB161B TU 0642
http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet- ... 1B-TU.html

Have the TSOP 28 adapter, so does anybody know what device type setting is necessary to read it on Willem 50A?

And if there is need of any adaptation/modification of any type make it work with this set up?

If anybody has other solutions to getting a dump from this chip, then I welcome those, too.

Thanks in advance

Can you post picture of your Willem and tsop adapter/holder?

If angle is not showing what you are looking for, then let me know, I would take another pic.

That tsop adapter wont go.

Willem boards cant supply 3.6v to ZIF socket if I recall correct.

Your Atmel Features (from Datasheet)

• Single 2.5V - 3.6V or2.7V - 3.6V Supply
• Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) Compatible
.
.
• 5.0V-tolerant Inputs: SI, SCK, CS, RESETand WPPins

So if it's SPI supportive ic, Willem will probably do.

Altough spi programming voltage is 2.5-3.3v I programmed some bios few days ago with 3.6 with no problem. I did some experiments 5.0v also won't kill it (Now talking about Soic8 25Q16BVSIG by Winbond) but it won't be programmed with that V.

I'll get back to you tomorrow on this.

The markings on your PCB are "EPROM Programmer V50B"?

Does that make any difference?

@Haltec
Yup, right, I don't want to kill this chip foolishly.
Thanks for looking into it..

Ok try this setup:

No jumpers for vReg, All Dip down to OFF

All pins are on willem 25Cxxx 8 pin socket. On your picture the one right next to yellow led.

You will need some resistor wire cutoffs or old header pins to made connection to that willem 25cxxx socket.

insert header pins to the position 1,2,4,5,6,7 that means that pin 3 /WP and Pin 8 VCC wont connect here / you have to conect those two pins to an ISP header pin 1 marked VCC. Before doing anything (connecting Atmel) check voltage Between that pin and any GND / should be around 3.6v / that works only if Willem is on 12v power supply / NOT on USB driven 5V!!!

You need to connect

pin 1 on Willem to Pin 11 ATMEL /CS
pin 2 on Willem to Pin 14 ATMEL DO/IO1
pin 4 on Willem to Pin 7 ATMEL GND
pin 5 on Willem to Pin 13 ATMEL DI/IO0
pin 6 on Willem to Pin 12 ATMEL SCK
pin 7 on Willem to Pin 11 ATMEL HOLD/IO3

PIN 3 and PIN 7 on Atmel should be connected together to ISP header 1 (VPP) on Willem.

You'll need software who supports your IC:

And please test your setup on some other Atmel prior to one you need to preserve!!!!!

Thanks very much for your input.
I don't have an extra chip to test unfortunately.
Mhh... may reconsider moving forward with it.
