What tool can be used for unlocking this drive, if possible without loosing data?

How is the drive locked?

Drive is locked with password in IBM thinkpad.

If you cannot put it back on the NB where it was fitted and then unlock the supervisor password, I'm afraid that for DIY it is game over, unless you want to loose data.
