good evening ;

normally i do recoveries from hard drives , and has no info about flash/ssd medias
i have this flash disk , that i could get a complete image using ddrescue with no single error, but examining the content of the image with r-studio, will not return any file , just like the flash was wiped or something ! is there anything i can do ?

thank you

Please check the hex value of flash - if contains 00 of FF or it looks like there is some data? Sometimes one sector repetitive on whole flash.

It could be the controller problem too.

Hi,
What is the problem with the drive?
what is the controller chip and what is the NAND chip?
Do you have any NAND reader and data recovery tools?
cheers

when the drive plugged in , windows ask to format it ..
examining it with hex viewer , returning a little amount of data at the biggining "les that 1MB i think" and showing "F1" as for the rest of the drive ..

any chance recoveriing anything from this disk ?

no i donut have any ssd/fkash recovery tools , i just accept normal HDDs cases ..normally

thank you

Outsource to someone with flash capabilities.

Hi,
You didn't provide the details I asked, so probably can't help any further right now. In addition to those questions, here are a few more:

You say you do recoveries from HDD's, is that logical recoveries only or do you do clean room work and go inside the hard disks, and have tools for working on the drives and firmware etc?
reason I ask is that if so, you may be considering adding additional services and may want to buy tools to work with Flash also.

It sounds like your Flash device has controller issues, and the NAND will need to be read for the next step in recovery. This also needs a nominal amount of experience to perform so I would take the above advice and outsource.

Contact me on PM. I will check this flash by TV and confirm/not necessary reading directly form nands.

Also, have you opened it? a few photos would help, we don't know if it is TSOP48, LGA, Monolith etc. but I am pretty sure it is going to need reading by NAND in any case.
