I have this SSD from a Samsung laptop. The OS is corrupted and I can't boot from a CD/DVD to check if data is there.

Is there any way to connect this to a PC to check the files?
Sorry for the quality of the photo, but is still "readable" ehheeh

mate, sorry, but I'm in a nit-picky mood, lack of sleep and frustration of a day full of Active Directory and Group Policy hell after driving 10 hours. First thing is 1.8Mb for a picture is a bit extreme, next time could you please crop it and resize? Yes it is hard to read, but a solution would have been to retake the picture, and/or type the text out. Here is what I might have posted as an example:

The photo was send directly from my phone. I was a bit lazzy to crop it

I don't think that I need any special tool for this, because the SSD is OK. My main problem is that the OS is corrupted and I need to get the files out.
This damn laptop BIOS is also weird: I try to change the boot order to USB CD player or a Flash Drive and it doesn't save the changes....
That's why I ask if it's possible to read it directly with an adapter.

mSATA is electrically SATA.

Sorry I missed that part in my haste to whine, and assumed the SSD was shot sorry! everyone knows what Assume is it makes an ASS out of U and ME does it have a usb port? you could boot by usb, or even possibly network as well by PXE boot.

but Falthers option looks easier - I must get one of those myself

Similar recent job here.

Dead Asus Zenbook. Removed drive, coupled up via adapter.
However, the drive was "not ok"
PC doesn't see the device at all, imagers see the hook up but get no response.
That *would* need PC3000/SC-FE attention.

Specific adapters can be from China on ebay, check first.
Mine took weeks to get here despite being "in stock".

Acknowledging other posters, check carefully the adapter description when buying.

Had a local tech guy report getting the *correct* adapter only to find later it was "probably not the correct one", all the pins of the smaller drive having been put into just one side of the wrong adaper board.

This maybe the fault of the "This picture is not of the actual adapter but a generic image" type of seller.

Long shot: Have you tried to boot from alternate source with the hard drive removed? It maybe would default to the next available.
Possibly look for a "factory reset" option and see if it resets boot order.

just checking - you say you cant boot from CD/DVD .. why is that.. is it because it doesn't have one, or it doesn't work.. or??

I use this one.

The Laptop is a NP900X.
The BIOS don't save the boot options too..

The laptop is still under warranty, so the guy won't let me do much. He claims that the warranty should cover software problems and he doesn't want to pay.
So, I'm not very interested in this.
I rather give him the laptop and then he can send it to the Samsung Tech Center and of course lose all the data. The guy is very stubborn...

As you say, best give it back lest something happen to it in the meantime and he comes to chase you for replacement.

Lots of good comments already, and I think everyone agrees that this "customer" is probably going to be more trouble than you want. I just wanted to mention two points:

Until you can read from the drive, then how do you know that the problem is OS corruption and not a genuine SSD problem? You also said:

FYI I just downloaded its user manual from Samsung and according to that it should have a normal BIOS, including selecting boot device and priority etc. (press F2 when the Samsung logo appears). So if you can't get into the BIOS setup, then it seems the story is even more complicated...

I think he means he did change the boot order, saved settings and quit BIOS but settings were not saved (like when you press F10 or so to quit saving changes)
I have seen this once and it was due to some problem with the BIOS battery.

By coincidence had to use one myself yesterday - had a Adata 64GB ssd
out of the box - and cloned a 60GB SATA source on my Atola instantly
to this ssd

Well, I think the SSD is OK, as is detected and try to boot. I don't think it will be very hard, but of course as you said, only after I try to read it, I can be sure.

The problem with BIOS, is that as Northwind said, I change to boot order, save the changes and it doesn't save it. So I can't boot from any external devices.
Believe me, I tried everything I can remember eheheheh

Yeap, could be a bad battery or a bad BIOS. I have installed a new one and same thing. But I'm gonna get the adapter. I think it will be easier.
