If you dont need data, then probably all you need is to make Secure Erase with master password. But you have to find out what master password your model has. Try to cantact to Toshiba technical support, may they will tell you password or advice you service center where you could unlock your drive.

SSD sticks to lenovo laptop. If official service will change your motherboard they have to provide you with new SSD, otherwise , unlock the ssd drive also their work due password was set by lenovo hardware.

Contact Joe and ask him if he has a solution for you:
http://www.ja.axxs.net/

AIUI, the passwords are stored in EEPROM. Do you still have the old motherboard?

Yes, I was referring to the motherboard's EEPROM. However, even though "Joe's" site seems to suggest that a HDD password is stored on the motherboard, I don't understand why it should be duplicated there, if indeed it is.

Nowadays, actually,no need to keep passwords somewhere. Storing hash is enough to validate the password.

I would experiment with a WD Scorpio drive. Install it in your Lenovo, password protect it, and then retrieve the password using the methods outlined elsewhere in this forum. Perhaps you will be able to see something ...
