Hi TerraNova

What form factor is the SSD?

Some of the early uSata models (not in metal case) used in Sony Z-Series often need a re-flow due to the battering they get being located underneath the touch pad.

Unfortunately the Toshiba controller used in these is just a Re badged SandForce 2281 controller..

It is more than likely that the fault you are experiencing is the well known SandForce "Panic lock"

The drive should be repairable using a SandForce bootable Firmware update/ repair tool but this is a destructive process...

As far as I know there is no means of recovering the data from these..

Fingers crossed someone proves me wrong.. :?

Hi thanks for your reply, its a 2.5" in aluminium case form factor.

damn... you could try it in a reflow oven,, but im doubtful it would be a dry joint on that model..
