Thank you guys for the responses!

Yes a proper data recovery person may be able to recover. Flash drives are a very "iffy" thing to recover, so many different flash chips and controller chips and quality etc.
I would not play with it.. find a real data recover company. ask them if they do proper recovery, and if they are quite experienced at it.
I had the same issue with a Sandisk MicrSD Card. The following worked for me:
1. install "partition find and mount" on your PC.
2. insert card into PC, and ignore the "format" message, but do NOT click it off.
3. open partition find and mount, hopefully you see your drive there. do not search for a partition, just select your card and take an image of it and save to your PC. This is a copy of all the sectors of the card. Now try some data recovery software on the image. such as GetDataBack.
Again, thank you for the help!!! I actually went over some advice you gave me before about a Ford Navigation issue I had, and clicked a link to another forum and found some advanced information that was kind of above me, (although I have worked with a hex editor in the past.)
I was hoping Sandisk wouldn't likely have the same issues as this relatively inexpensive card I bought on sale at Fry's, but now you have got me concerned. (My wife has a trial to Amazon Prime and I found Amazon had the cheapest price using search engines Shopzilla, Bizrate, Pricegrabber, Nextag, and Froogle, so I ordered an Extreme Pro 16GB card on the 17th.) It says on the packaging that it is "WATER PROOF" and "TEMPERATURE PROOF", with reference to a webpage for details, besides the fact that it rated up to 95MB/s read, 90MB/s write speed. It came Tuesday, and I opened it excited that I had a memory card again to store.
Low and behold inside was a little paper saying "FREE DOWNLOAD 1-Year subscription of RescuePRO Deluxe recovery software". I decide to try it. It recognizes two items that seem to be the same SD card, one says 32GB, and the other I think unformatted. I try the 32GB one as it seems to be the better choice. It has three options for retrieval, but the instructions note them a little differently. First is pictures, second is videos, third is all/all other files. I tried them in order as pictures was the most important to me, videos second, and all other files third. On the actual software the third selection is "All", and in the instructions it says "all other", but the correct functionality seems to be all. I noticed in the lower left of the window it notes any "read errors", and I noticed the number was 0 in each of the three options that I tried. It automatically saves the retrieved files to an output directory in each case, with a date stamp. I then used the fourth option to create an image backup. Overall I am very happy with the results....

Could the old photos that you see in the Camera be those that are saved in the Cameraºs built-in memory ? Have you tried another camera ?
This is a great idea! I didn't think about trying in another camera, and I'm not sure exactly where those other pictures were, now that I think about it. But, now that I think about it a little more, it might be risky inserting into another camera as it might "prepare" it for image/video storing, and possibly damage some of those items that I am trying to retrieve in the process. I really do appreciate the ideas/thoughts though!!!
