Here is the situation, I bought new laptop for my Boss, a Lenovo T440s
He wanted to his data safe, so I set HDD password from bios.

Accidently selected user not user+master, which i was supposed to.
Now I need to change this to user+master, and I have no idea.

Using brand new Lenovo T440s, SSD is from samsung, 180Gb.
I know the user password. I haven't touched any other bios settings.

But I need to keep the data on the SSD, because I have done a lot of work installing all the things he needs.

please help!

Did the Samsung drive come with the Lenovo laptop OR the original drive it came with was replaced with the Samsung?

Good, so compatibility issue is not the issue.
There has no been any BIOS updates applied or anything like that that cause a change in it the system, correct?

Have you checked any of the Lenovo forums where other had the same problem?

I haven't updated the bios. And there isn't a newer one available.

Lenovo forums didn't have related to my issue.

Also I have asked the reseller about this issue, Hopefully they have the correct channels to get some guides to change this.

Issue solved, and i'm feeling embarrassed.

goto user password, and try to change it. Then leave the new password empty, just press enter same to conformation password.
Now the password is disabled.
