I've been seeing a lot of these for sale around town. I generally buy 5 - 10 devices a week to build up my research pool, but I have held off on these for now until I take a look and get familiar with the format.

I was wondering if any of you have started to get these in, if you are noticing a certain type failing, and if there are any peculiarities with recovery... or are they same as SDHC, just larger?

I take it all these are exFAT?

Are they generally Monoliths or PCB? What controllers are on them? Are the Monolith Pinouts matching to what we already know if they are same pin config of SD/SDHC?

Purpose of this post is to just start a discussion on them, or to identify they are nothing special to worry about.

Been really busy working with new tools this week but next week I may buy an assortment of them. Just gets a bit expensive!
Cheers :)

I get a fair bit of SDXC products in...

Some micro (which do not seem to have similar pin-outs to any monolith pin-out patters I have)

as for Full size SD
in the UK I see mostly

Sandisk (again new monolith patterns)
PNY which are Sandsik Re binned (same as above)
Transcend which are SM3702 if i remember correctly
also i have had a few Samsung SDXC (i-nand)

yes all ExFat
and usually 7/10 the micro SDXC have been killed by GoPro cameras
