Post subject:  Rescue Data from Lenovo X300 Disk (MCCOE64G8MPP-0VA)

My Lenovo x300 died two weeks ago. When I attached the SSD to my PC (using a msata -> sata adapter).
I realized that the drive is locked using the x300's bios. I can recall my password, but using "hdparm --unlock-security" does not work.
Neither using scancodes nor ASCII for encoding (see also http://blacklotus89.wordpress.com/2013/11/27/ata-security-lock-2/)
When I searched this forum, I found http://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26275, so I am starting to get nervous.
Does anyone know, which would be the right encoding?
If I were to give up the data, which would be very inconvenient, but bearable as I backed up the most important stuff,
is there a possibility to get the drive unlocked without saving the data? According to hdparm it is in maximum security mode.

yep its locked and uses FDE.. so even if you unlock it, it will be encrypted.

AFAIK you need to repair the laptop, or clone the laptop ROM to another working unit.

I have not heard of a workaround yet.
