My knowledge in flash is sort of limited at this point in more areas than other...

I am looking for info on SSD Power On Self Test... what I am trying to understand better is the importance of a NAND working or not (accessible or not) during POST, or perhaps some of a NANDs banks/parts being inaccessible.

When it comes to banks within the NAND being defective, I think it does not matter, but not sure what happens if the whole NAND is dead.

Other than patents, can anybody provide a link or something... Or want to share knowledge or ideas (even if they may be perceived to be wrong)?

There are other alternatives to finding out the answers, but I am in a rush and it is a bit costly to find out on my own at the moment.

Thanks
