I am beginning to see more SSD's through my shop and am considering getting the PC3000 SSD. I have a couple of drives that I would normally refer out, but if the opportunity of recovery is reasonable this will push me over the edge to get the PC3K. The OCZ Vertex R2 does not have a Sandforce controller so I presume this increases the chance of a recovery. The second SSD is a Kingston Viper X which does have a Sandforce Controller. Both these SSD's have been reflowed without success. What would you estimate my chances of recovering at least one of these with the PC3000 SSD?

1) What does each drive do in status register?
2) Depending on what kind of laptops they come from, PC3000 SSD may not help as the data may still be encrypted? And has nothing to do with controller encryption.

Both remain BSY

I didn't ask which kind of laptop. I can understand if they were encrypted with BitLocker etc, but why the type of laptop? I obviously have a lot to learn about SSD's :D
