how to retrieve data from a password locked Iphone5

My wife's iphone5 was locked permernantly. The kid tried password too many times. When I connect it to PC with iTune. iTune shows password has been changed! The phone is not jail breaked. Is any way to get the data out?

I doubt it. If you could, then the NSA and FBI wouldn't have pushed Apple to add biometrics to their new devices. Even they couldn't get around it without the password, but now they just need a finger which is easier to get than a password.
