This flash drive contains a single chip called a "Monolith" it is the Nand chip and controller chip on a single pcb and the whole lot is encased in a material same as a regular IC. Think of it like a MicroSD Card type of thing. Data recovery is sometimes possible. I am worried that yours is getting hot, as this can mean a short circuit. These are sometimes put together with doublesided sticky tape and pushed in, so heating it(not too much) can sometimes let you pull the chip out. |

Thank you HaQue for quick reply worth info, HaQue wrote: These are sometimes put together with doublesided sticky tape and pushed in, so heating it(not too much) can sometimes let you pull the chip out. Are you mean to heat on the flash in order to pull the chip out? |

In some cases this is how they are put together, yes. Other cases, the plastic thing is snapped on, there are many different ways. What is your plan once it is apart? There are no user serviceable parts inside. Have a look at this collection of Monoliths to see what I mean http://www.odzyskiwanie-danych.com.pl/monolith-database.html |
