| Post subject: | SATA vs SAS Lights on Backplane |
Hi New to this site, so sorry to post a question at my first visit. On our Supermicro servers, SAS drive light up solid blue, but SATA drives do not (they only light on drive access) - this is the behaviour hard coded by Supermicro. As we are using more and more Samsung 850 SSD (SATA) devices, this is becoming an issue, with one exception - a couple of test Kingston V300 SSD's light up as if they were recognised as SAS drives. Does anyone know if there is a change we can make to Samsung SSD's to duplicate this? Hope the above makes sense Thanks Mark |
