Micron realSSD C400 mSATA 64 gb not working

November 2nd, 2015, 10:01

Hi
I'm Domenico from italy.
This is my first time here...
I have a SSD memory taken off from a microsoft surface pro (1514) that is fallen down and can't boot.
I bought a caddy to read the memory directly without luck.
Do you think that i could recovery data from it? I'm asking for a jtag method or a repair way...
Thank you

Show model of controller - under the sticker.

You might want to check a second adapter first. Those mSATA to SATA adapters can sometimes be touchy. Unless you have pro equipment to rebuild the data from the NANDS, I don't think you want to go there.

i'm sure that adapter works.
What do you think about reflowing all the nand chips?

very risky, 1 misaligned chip that creates a short and it is toast. but not sure if I have ever seen a chip off solution for marvell, I would be interested to see the dumps.

But if no other option, certainly worth a try. sometimes you can look sideways down between bga and pcb and see a broken ball, I see it regularly in flash drives looking under microscope

Good news:
i have reflowed the controller side with 300 degrees air gun, pre-heat and many flux... it is working now!

thanks to all
