Help please, SSD locked by Insyde BIOS

December 28th, 2015, 9:53

Hi, i spent all day researching how to unlock my drive and ended up here.

My ssd was locked by bios. At first, i set both supervisor password and hdd password with the same password. Unfortunately, the system stated that my hdd password is incorrect when i try to log in. However, i am pretty sure that i typed the rufht password because i have to input the password twice in the set-up password process. But i have no idea how it went this way.

I try to crack the master password from the number given when i typed the wrong password three time ( like this http://youtu.be/V6X8pBg6BfQ). I craked the code using https://bios-pw.org, and the result looks good because the screen turned black (in black) after i put the generated master password, but it still not work.

So, then i searched more until i know that ( i assume) my ssd was at maximum security mode. Then, i tried to run some tools via hiren's bootCD 15.2, the frist tool is ATAPWD and the result showed "no ATA deives detected", then Victoria 3.3.3 and it stated that " Drive not say DRSC, DRSY or not remove BUSY....", and the last is MHDD that i just typed "ID" to see the information and the program stated "Drive is not ready."

Kindly help me find it out cause i don't know what to do since it appears that any program cannot access my ssd at all.

Thank you

Hola!
One thing to try is........go to the control panel and enable view hidden files and folders and system files etc
If you still can't see the files them make a clone image to a file on your hard drive. You can use Dmde to make the image. Then open the image in Dmde to check or scan for files.

edit. just realized. Apologies for posting in a hijacked thread!

Depending on your computer model h20insyde might be the password.
Read this thread and give it a try: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8374&p=158597&hilit=h20insyde#p158597

That's when the magic moment happens: I remember that back in a post in this thread someone listed a few master passwords, and one of them said something about "acer" so... I go back to the beginning of the thread and scan the first few pages, find that post with the master passwords, know that I've already tried the WDC-repeat ones and had no luck, then I see it: h20insyde

It can't be that easy, can it? Well, let's find out. Reboot the PC, load MHDD off my USB stick, Shift+F3 to detect the drive, UNLOCK, 1 for master password, then h2oinsyde and... I'll be damned.

Done.

In bright green letters, and boy did I smile big and wide. Did DISPWD and removed it permanently and now the drive is unlocked. :)
