Post subject:  **Sandforce Recovery now possible!**

Hi all,

We're proud to announce that both our Athens and Thessaloniki labs are capable of recovering SSD drives based on SandForce controllers.

We've developed an in-house technique that actually works.

We've tried it on several SSD models carying different SandForce controllers and the results are great. Any SSD brand; any controller.

It is very time consuming though; it can take sometimes 10 weeks or more when the damage is very complex, usually we have results in 4-5 weeks.

Any questions, please email our dedicated engineer at tech[at]northwind.gr or PM me here, but first option is faster.

We're offering discounts to partner labs that want to outsource.

Best Regards,
D.

This is not news, ACE Data Recovery is doing a recovery for Sandforce SSD from 2014. In 2015, a new technology was introduced:
Dallas, TX - February 06, 2015 - ACE Data Recovery, a division of the ACE Data Group, LLC, announced today they have redesigned their ZCopy Ultra data extraction hardware and developed new custom software to significantly improve their SandForce-based SSD data recovery success rate.

I can't believe there has been no response to this. This is a major achievement, amazing work.
Probably the biggest news in flash in the last few years. I don't know if any other labs already have gotten this far, but I certainly haven't heard about it. congratulations

Yes, very nice work. And you did it without a special partnership with Sandforce like DriveSaves advertises.

Nice work Sir!

At last someone we can trust to recover Sandforce!! :-)

Now to find some clients who are actually willing to pay!

It is not very difficult. Just need ECC, AES, unpack, RAISE and FTL.
I did it several years ago.

Interesting. To date I have never heard of a successful SandForce chip-off anecdote. I know Dimitris hasn't specifically said this is chip off, and it may not be. But many, many calls for anyone to report a successful SandForce recovery beyond PCB repair have gone unanswered.

If you also are in the position to offer what Northwind are, then also, good work.

I also wondered about the line " As a result of our partnership with SandForce". can you expand on that?

Anyway, nice to see some progress on the SF Front.

Very interesting to hear. Well done. As @pcimage states, someone to trust with these. Next time a Sand Force based SSD is in, I'll be in touch.

Best regards,
John.

Yes, chip off recovery is possible, if for some reason you have already removed the NAND chips from the PCB, send us a PCB with the CPU also, there is the OTP memory, see attached picture.

Working with the manufacturer goes strictly under the NDA, we can not disclose the details of the cooperation, but 99% of the work for the development of data recovery technology was done by our engineers.

The average recovery time of 2-5 weeks depends on the capacity and type of memory used.
Success rate is almost 100%.
We also provide a special discount for the resellers.
