| Post subject: | Duplicate SSD to USB |
I am using Raw Copy to duplicate an SSD system to a USB with the intent to remove SSD and boot Win10 from USB. I have tried several times with no success. Going from 120G to 128G. Files look like they are there, but will not boot. Bios changed to boot from USB. I am sure it is something simple, but I'm at a loss... Thanks, Roy |

Hi. I think you are going to have to make an iso image of your ssd drive. Then you have to use a tool like Rufus to prepare the usb device to boot and mount the windows 10 iso you created. Take a look here: https://rufus.akeo.ie/ |

You cant make an hdd/ssd image copy to usb and boot from it. It doesn't work. You can make a live cd, with nlite, but no boot from an image previously installed on hdd/ssd. When the drivers will be loading it will give bsod (blues screen and reboot). Try to install a fresh OS to usb and see if it's ok. (You should use a fast usb 3.0 or 3.1) |
