HI, my Sandisk Cruzer 8GB is recognized by Windows and Deepin. But after seconds disapear.

I tried to format in various softwares, no success. The applications can´t recognize the device even OS showing the USB unity in list.

Some programs says: "can´t format", "can´t write", "Write protected" but in fact they can´t find the USB device because it disapear after few seconds connected.

Somebody did see this before?

Thank fopr the help.

i think this is hardware problem. just insert working SD for windows. if it is working then you have to throw the damaged chip.

Look at it in Diskpart and see what the capacity is showing, if it is showing something in the kb range then it tells you it is seeing the control chip but not the storage chip. This usually means it is a hardware issue where there is a break somewhere in the tracings or the oscillating crystal (if applicable) has been damaged. If it is mounting then disappearing, there is a good chance that there is a short somewhere on the board and it is shutting it's self down or the OS/motherboard is shutting down the port to protect it. Use a multi meter to check the continuity of the resistors on the board or look for blank solder pads that should have a resistor on them. I've seen them blow clear off before if they get a big enough power spike.

Good Luck

If the flash drive mounts every single time it is being connected to the system and it shows the correct capacity (or it shows the data via pop up in Explorer), but then unmounts randomly, then it is likely a bad sector issue. The flash chip(s) is degraded. Need to clone it with more advanced equipment that can deal with bad sectors, ideally a read-only equipment.

If the flash drive has the connector broken or bent in any kind of way, then it is possible, as pointed above in other posts, that it is an electronics issue as well.

Chip off recovery by a specialist could be an option, though typically chip off recovery on SanDisk can be a nightmare due to encryption or strange XOR.

if you plug it in and it appears then disappears.. does it reappear if you gently push USB up or down? this indicates a bad or broken solder joint.

can you provide high res pics of both sides of PCB?

I would also try plugging the device in to other pc's or laptops. Sometimes a failing or faulty out of spec device might draw more current than the usb port can supply. You could also try using a powered usb hub.

I have a similar case where the DeepSpar USB stabilizer and, amazingly enough, MRT DE together allowed me to get the device cloned without my having to manually restart everything every few seconds.
