Hello.
I had a transcend flash drive that became read only and write protected. I can't format it but a tool like "JetFlash Online Recovery" fixed it. I want to know how can I do it manually?

Thank you.

JetFlash probably sends VSCs. You would need to snoop the USB traffic with suitable software/hardware.

If Phison controller, it probably first changes its mode, with the VSC's Franc mentioned, and then uploads a program (8051 processor or whatever) then runs this to do whatever it does. Lookup phison controller hacking in places like security conference talks and this forum where this has been covered. I really don't see the point in it though, unless personal interest, either DR the drive you have or chuck it

What is VCS? You mean is something like wireshark?

Can I change the mode manually?

I don't know but if you find the Phison controller research, there is source code. VSC = Vendor Specific Commands. So for example Phison chips may accept a certain set of bytes that do something specific to whatever the Phison engineers intended, but would not be relevant for say a Silicon Motion controller.

This is documented in the mentioned hacking research of Phison controllers. not sure if it is worth it for what you want though.

google badusb and phison …
