I have several cases with microSD cards not working. What is the best solution to remove the first layer of the microSD card (grinding process)? Any suggestions? I use sand paper but it is a really hard work. Does someone try laser? Do you recommend it? What is the best approach?

Fiberglass pen or laser, if you can afford it.

+1 for fiberglass pen as well.
it will be just as labour intensive as the sandpaper (if not slightly more), but there's virtually no risk of grinding too deep and sanding off the first layer of contacts on the microSD.

The K-Tool International KTI (KTI-70550) Sanding Pen works well. Not much effort required. There are some that are softer but you will never finish the job
