Hi

How or where do I find the pinout for a microSD? The one I've got here has 5326DRCX40EX written on the backside. Do I have to grind off the layer and find a similiar layout in the VNR-database, or is there any other way to find it?

If you look at the back under light and angle microSD card you should be able to see the PCB under the black. it will be not easy to see but you should be able to see it well enough to match to examples such as VNR, the Arvika monolith database. http://odzyskiwanie-danych.com.pl/monolith-database.html PC3K etc.

to recover you would need to grind off the back with fibreglass pen or fine sandpaper, but to identify you might not.

Nice database, but USD 200 to buy a pinout? That's probably a fair price for a large company, but for me (sole proprietor) it's a bit out of the league

Large or small company is not so important. It is about the extensive thinking and work needed to get it done. Once learning this type of stuff, the appreciation will go through the roof. Therefore, a person will deem $200 as a steal deal.

Just check if it's 3x7 pads pinout, I guess it is. No need to remove coating you can just adjust the light the way you can see reflections.

If you want to offer monolithic recovery service, you can buy the tools and spend the time to research pinouts on your own, you can rely on someone else who has done the research and wants to be compensated for their time, or you can outsource the project.
