I don't understand your response. All I was suggesting was that the AppoTech controller would not (or should not) be able to write to the ECC byte(s) in the SA (because the BENAND generates the ECC), in which case the XOR algorithm would be a little more complex (data + SA - ECC), or it could be that AppoTech avoids writing to the SA altogether.
