I have this client who contacted me about an iphone 5, with broken screen and forgotten password. I know iphone, and apple in general is difficult to handle. But is there som way to get out the photos from this phone? Via cabel and som software, or desoldering the chip and use some adapters and heavy software?

The iPhone 5 is hardware encrypted, so chip offs are not possible. The only way to get to the data is via the phone. Obviously a screen is an easy fix, however the forgotten password is the issue. For most modern phones you need specialist software in order to unlock the phone, that software is only available to law enforcement (Greykey etc). Now with an iPhone 5, I am not sure if this is crackable without Greykey or not. Hopefully someone else can fill in the gap in my knowledge.
