I have Toshiba 256GB M2 Toshiba SSD kbg30zmv256g.
The hdd is not detected. Behavior like NO hdd is connected with pc3k or like the power failure hdd.
I have tried to found faulty components and created the output voltage diagram.
Attached the image of m2 sata. How to recover the data?
Thanks,

Google tells me that this is an NVMe SSD. Does PC3000 support NVMe now?

I have m2 to sata converter.
So I have used the sata converter and checked on pc3000. but not shown any led like busy, drd, dsc.
also I have used working m2 drive with this connector. it detects and shows drd, dsc enable.
Thanks,

This adapter is likely not NVMe compatible and the working/test SSD isn't an NVMe SSD either.
Can you confirm?

yes You are right.
I have B+M key socket 2(sata) m2 NGFF SSD converter. Due to same type of pin slot I have checked the NVMe on this adapter.
Now I have used the nvme supported motherboard. It detects in bios. but not found in windows10. Device manager shows dirver missing "Standard NVMe controller"
Thanks.

So you have updated BIOS and installed newest drivers for mainboard?
What happens now?

coz its controller is gone crazy, same scenario with SSD with BSY
chip-off is a must with high pro. tools (VNR helps a lot here)

Toshiba online site shows it use the microsoft default nvme driver. no need of any extra driver.
I have checked the system with other working adata drive. it detected in windows.
Searching solution. I doubt in the Toshiba nvme controller. but no separate controller found in this drive.

I don't know.. what is the controller? Is there any chips on the other side? I don't think so.. so a single chip? If so must be a BGA SSD, and I am unsure of if these have been recovered by any tools yet.
The XG5 is also the first SSD from Toshiba to leverage the company’s 64-layer BiCS 3D flash memory (TLC) which delivers the highest layer count in the market.
Newer XG6-P have 96layer BiCS Flash! Are these chips supported in our flash tools?
I would be interested in a picture of the drive without the sticker (even though I think this picture is not of the real patient, but a stock picture from ebay)
BTW, it says NVMe right on the label...
Also, in regards to the label.. does "R-REM-TMZ-KBG3AZMV512G" mean that this is a refurbished 512G SED drive? I think the "0" in "kbg30zmv256g" means not SED and the "A" in "KBG3AZMV512G" denotes a SED drive

I think that is a certification code. I see these same kinds of certs on HDDs. AIUI, one member of a particular model series is tested and certified, and this code is then applied to the other members of the same family.
https://fccid.io/R-REM-TMZ-KBG3AZMV512GAn KCC / MSIP R ID is the authorization ID assigned by the Korean Communications Commission to identify wireless products in the Korean market. The R assigns application ID numbers and Authorization number to approved products. The SOLID STATE DRIVE, manufactured by Toshiba Memory Corporation and sold by Toshiba Memory Corporation has an Authorization Number of R-REM-TMZ-KBG3AZMV512G and was approved on 2018-02-28 under application number 201817210000045827.

Makes sense, Thanks. I guess there isn't a whole lot of difference between the different drives.
Certification must be a real Bug Bear for drive vendors

Here are two drives with the same cert code, but different covers and model numbers, even though they are supposed to be identical:

Hello all,
I've just received one of these this afternoon. The BGA chip is marked with:
Toshiba KBG30ZPZ256G
18109AE TWN SG1386
It looks like it is the BG3 64-layer package. Specs at:
https://business.toshiba-memory.com/en- ... d/bg3.htmlThe failed SSD I have in gets a hot BGA chip when powered.
